Night Glass.
Night Glass shows what the sky is offering tonight, and what is coming up.
-
Frost.
Frost shows when the ground will be cold enough overnight for dew or frost.
See what the sky is offering.
For stargazers, photographers and hill walkers.
Some nights the sky is full. Some nights there is only a planet. Night Glass reads your chosen place and tells you which: the Milky Way, any meteor showers, the bright planets and satellite passes, and what is coming up in the week ahead.
Search a place, or use where you are, and read the night before you decide whether to go out. It uses Transparency for air clarity, and opens Sky Contours when you want to see where the moon spoils it.
It tells you what is up there, not whether the sky will be clear. Check Transparency before you set off.
See when dew or frost will settle.
For photographers, hill walkers and nature shooters.
On a clear, still night the ground gives its heat away and chills the air resting on it. Moisture settles — dew if it stays above freezing, frost if it drops below. Spider webs, grass, fence posts, car roofs.
Frost shows when that is likely at your chosen spot, from dusk to dawn. Search a place, or pick it on a map, and read the hours before you set the alarm.
It’s a forecast of the ground, not a promise of frost. If you are driving or walking on ice, use a local forecast as well.
